Lord Jesus Christ, Head of your Church, keep us from building around our own importance. Give us your apostolic truth, your mercy without denial, your authority as service, and your courage to protect people when protection costs us. Send your Spirit to make Scripture living in obedience, prayer honest, baptism and Table true communion, office accountable, money clean, households guarded, suffering accompanied, and witness clear. Teach us to begin only what we can receive faithfully, to repair what we corrupt, to release what belongs to others, and to close what no longer serves your body. Gather a people who love you, tell the truth, bear one another's burdens, and wait for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
