# Selected References and Source Trace

<a id="selected-references-and-source-trace"></a>

<a id="scope-and-citation-policy"></a>

## Scope and Citation Policy

This is a selected but claim-recoverable apparatus, not a list of everything consulted. It promotes the primary texts and the methodological, philosophical, historical, scientific, clinical, and institutional sources that carry DDF's governing architecture or its highest-risk public claims. Inclusion here does not make unlike sources equal in authority. Scripture governs Christian doctrine; original-language tools clarify texts; early Christian and conciliar sources witness to reception and doctrinal boundary; historical and empirical sources describe their proper fields; philosophical sources clarify and compare arguments; and guidance documents govern only the practices within their stated scope.

Every remaining claim-local citation must be recoverable at first use. The first use must either give complete metadata locally or use an unambiguous author-and-short-title key whose complete title, edition or version, date, publisher or journal, and DOI or stable URL appear in this apparatus. Patristic sources also require the work and locus. Fast-moving reports, guidelines, datasets, system cards, and web resources require the exact release or revision date and a verification date in the local note or apparatus. A surname chain, organization name, research field, homepage, or encyclopedia name without an unambiguous exact entry is not a citation. This central apparatus is allowed to carry repeated bibliographic metadata so Claim Cards can remain analytic rather than becoming duplicate bibliographies. A Claim Card's local source field must still pair each source or source cluster with the precise work it performs.

For the final source pass, live URLs attached to entries added or materially amended here were rechecked July 11, 2026. A "Verified" date records that link check only; it never replaces the work's edition, publication, release, revision, or adoption date, which remains part of the bibliographic record.

Sources not promoted into this selected apparatus remain legitimate only when the exact claim-local note carries the full trace. At each edition or release, all dated sources must be rechecked, dead links replaced or archived, and any changed edition, release, guideline, or system card identified. When a source cannot be recovered exactly, the dependent claim must be narrowed, re-sourced, or removed rather than supported by reconstructed metadata.
