# How to Use This Document

## Front Matter

Part I: Orientation and Governing Sources

This Part states the thesis, identifies the governing source order, and traces the canonical and early Christian arc that governs DDF's confession. It also establishes claim-relative authority so scientific, historical, philosophical, clinical, and public inquiries can correct every assertion within their competence before cross-domain synthesis.

## How to Use This Document

The document is built as an argument, a field guide, and an audit trail at the same time. It does not need to be read only from front to back. The front sections establish the architecture, the middle sections test the architecture across reality domains, and the Claim Register lets a reader inspect the warrant, scope, risk, and revision trigger for major claims.

The six Parts make that movement visible within one system. Part I establishes orientation and governing sources. Part II states the one-reality theological spine. Part III tests method, warrant, and rival accounts. Part IV brings the architecture into contact with the created disciplines. Part V applies it to public life. Part VI preserves the audit and reference apparatus. The presentation is cumulative: each later domain can strengthen, qualify, or correct the account already in view because every Part addresses the same reality.

Timeless Architecture and Versioned Cases

The governing doctrine and domain grammar belong to the durable body of DDF. Named policies, court decisions, reviews, datasets, institutional guidelines, and current controversies are versioned applications. They remain in the book because they show the framework under real pressure, but each carries a date, source role, affected population, mechanism, alternative account, and revision trigger. A case may later be corrected or replaced without revising the biblical ontology it was used to test. No contemporary case is allowed to become the hidden moral center of a domain.

Claim Card Field Guide

The guide names the logical dimensions used to govern a claim, not a one-to-one list of labels repeated on every printed card. Each card's eleven required local fields, together with the optional receiver field where it is materially used, are read with the card's primary governance profile and any overlays. The profile supplies stable authority, source-role, ledger, protection, and currentness rules; the local fields supply the claim-specific content and every override.

- Claim | The exact assertion being made.
- Domain, discipline, and scale | Names three typed questions without merging them: what created domain or event is addressed, which contact or theological discipline speaks, and at what scale. A card may omit a type that is not material. Layer is only shorthand after its type is named; it never means a separate world or substitutes for channel, receiver dimension, authority role, or warrant.
- Receiver dimension (optional) | Used only when a claim's contact with bodily life, the heart-mind or inner person, Godward addressability, or public mediation needs to be made explicit. These dimensions overlap in one living person.
- Claim kind | Whether the claim is doctrinal, empirical, historical, philosophical, pastoral, analogical, or practical.
- Authority role (inherited unless overridden) | What the claim or source is permitted to govern: doctrine, textual clarification, framework synthesis, created mechanism, testimony, or application.
- Relation type | The actual relation asserted between realities or typed loci.
- Warrant path | The reasoning that connects source contact to the claim.
- Three-ledger status / local maturity | The profile supplies the ledger rule; the local maturity-and-confidence field records the claim-specific state, while rival, scope, fruit, and revision fields keep public fit and embodied consequence visible rather than averaging them.
- Sources and source roles / local loci | The profile supplies the allowed source roles; the local field names the exact texts, evidence, or testimony and the specific work each performs.
- Strongest rival account | The best live alternative that must be understood before criticism.
- Scope and edge | What the claim can and cannot responsibly carry.
- Embodied fruit, risk, and protection | What the claim forms, how it could harm people or hide from correction, and what safeguards are needed.
- Revision trigger | The condition that should force correction, qualification, or stopping use of the claim.

## Bridge Premises and Conclusion Strength

DDF does not gain a conclusion merely by placing true claims beside one another. A bridge premise is the stated relation that permits one warranted claim to bear on another: for example, the relation between divine concurrence and creaturely culpability, between canonical authority and a law's directive force, or between resurrection and the identity of the subject raised. A bridge is load-bearing only when its source, reasoning, rival account, scope, and failure condition are visible. It must arise from the governing sources or from a necessary category distinction, close the actual inference rather than repeat its conclusion, remain coherent elsewhere in the framework, and survive the strongest relevant counterexample. A premise invented only to rescue one paragraph is not a DDF premise.

The principal bridges used in the theological spine are stated here so their later applications can be audited:

- Attributable participatory agency. Culpability requires that an act proceed through the person's own perception, practical judgment, reasons, loves, consent, and intention, with responsibility proportioned by knowledge, capacity, coercion, deception, and role. It does not require the creature to be an ultimate or uncaused source. Created force, manipulation, or impairment may replace or disable these powers; antecedent causal sufficiency as such is not identical to personal bypass.
- Asymmetric concurrence. God gives the creature, power, act, and every positive good their actuality; the privative failure in due order is not a second positive object supplied by God or a morally shared intention. This distinction identifies the creaturely defect; it does not by itself justify God's permission of the history in which the defect occurs.
- Inspired truth and typed directive force. Scripture is truthful divine--human speech. Genre and accommodation may qualify literary manner, covenantal stage, scope, historical form, and continuing directive force. They do not, without positive textual, canonical, or genre evidence, establish that an inspired narrator materially misattributed a command to God. Inspired authority also does not make permission, civil restraint, ritual pedagogy, narrative description, unique historical judgment, and creation-rooted moral command the same speech act or the same timeless directive.
- Same-subject answerability and predicate fidelity. Resurrection restores the numerically same subject, and no benefit at another scale cancels the unresolved loss of the creature who suffered. Created goodness and privation do not by themselves guarantee that every subject continues endlessly or enters communion, and an interpreter may not silently transfer a biblical predicate from a person to that person's corruption.
- Nonfungible creaturely good. Where a sentient creature's own good is materially at stake, aggregate ecological or historical function cannot substitute for that creature's good.
- Unequal light and proportionate judgment. Explicit religious recognition, actual epistemic access, culpable resistance, and saving participation are distinct; judgment answers the light, agency, and history actually received.
- Grace as healed participation. Grace can disclose, awaken, heal, and perfect creaturely willing from within without replacing the willing subject. The exact metaphysics of grace and freedom remain disputed; DDF's governing claim is healed participation rather than coercive substitution.
- Claim-relative authority and corrigibility. Scripture and the apostolic rule govern Christian confession; empirical evidence and the appropriate field methods govern empirical descriptions; historical sources govern ordinary historical reconstruction; and logic and philosophy govern the validity of bridge inferences. DDF's models, analogies, integrations, applications, and confidence judgments remain open to correction by every source competent for the claim being made. This reciprocity lets empirical, historical, philosophical, and theological contacts accumulate without borrowing one another's authority.

Inference Status Is Not Confidence

The claim ledgers and local confidence fields remain in force, but a second vocabulary records what the premises actually establish. Entailed means the conclusion follows if the stated premises are true. Excluded means the premises rule it out. Abductively preferred means it explains the full constrained field better than the named rivals but is not deductively forced. Compatible means no present contradiction has been shown, not that positive warrant has been supplied. Underdetermined means the available sources permit more than one materially different account. In tension means two affirmed claims create a burden not yet resolved. Contradicted means the account cannot retain the governing premises without revision. These statuses are not averaged with high, moderate, or low confidence. A high-confidence premise can leave a downstream conclusion underdetermined; a moderate-confidence synthesis can still be the abductively preferred account.

A third vocabulary records the epistemic role of the sentence being spoken. Source-established means the source competent for the claim directly establishes it within that source's jurisdiction. DDF inference means a visible bridge carries the conclusion beyond direct statement. Authorial judgment names DDF's or the author's reasoned preference, likelihood judgment, or theological opinion beyond entailment. Unknown means the competent sources do not presently disclose enough to decide. These roles must remain distinct from both inference status and confidence.

An exact downstream restatement must preserve the proposition, epistemic role, inference status, and confidence of its source. A stronger, broader, more categorical, catechetical, pastoral, or policy conclusion is a new claim and requires new warrant. Simplification cannot promote a claim.

When a section feels dense, use three questions: what is the claim, what source contact carries it, and what would require revision? When a diagram appears, read it as a map of relationships; the surrounding argument still carries the claim. When a practical domain is discussed, look for the same pattern: created reality, public channel, human receiver, formed fruit, corruption, protection, and repair in Christ.

Governing Sources and Claim-Relative Authority

For Christian confession, Scripture in its Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek forms is the governing source and final norm. Textual witnesses and ancient versions clarify wording and reception where that matters. Apostolic and ante-Nicene writers test continuity with the Church's earliest public confession, worship, catechesis, discipline, and hope; Nicene and later patristic witnesses supply further doctrinal precision. That precision is received as faithful only insofar as it preserves and clarifies the canonical-apostolic referent; developed terminology cannot reverse Scripture or authenticate itself.

That theological source order is not a universal ranking in which every other inquiry becomes a servant of theology. The authority of a source is relative to the kind of claim. Measurement, experiment, observation, model comparison, and replication govern empirical claims within their competence. Primary records, material remains, textual transmission, and historical criticism govern ordinary historical reconstruction. Clinical and lived-witness evidence govern claims about symptoms, risks, interventions, and experienced consequence within their limits. Logic, mathematics, and philosophy test formal consequence, category, bridge premise, and rival interpretation. Theology governs confession of God, creation, sin, Christ, grace, and final telos. Any one proposition may cross several jurisdictions and must then satisfy each one. That is how a measured result can enter a larger metaphysical account and how a doctrine with created consequences remains answerable to the world it describes.

DDF is the metaphysical organizing synthesis by which these different contacts with one reality can be joined without being collapsed. Each discipline follows its object and method, and the synthesis follows the actual pattern that emerges among them. Compatibility, conflict, and convergence therefore become discoveries with cumulative force rather than conclusions stipulated beforehand.
